Saubhagya Vikalachetanara Seva Trust (R.) Sullia was established on June 5, 2017, with an initial meeting held at the Samarthya Saudha Hall of the Sullia Taluk Panchayat. This meeting, attended by individuals with disabilities, their families, public representatives, government officials, and honorary advisory committee members, focused on creating a vision to integrate people with disabilities into the mainstream of society through social, educational, economic, self-employment, and other developmental avenues. Following this, an administrative board was formed, and the Trust was registered. As the Trust progressed, members sought to utilize self-employment and other initiatives to improve their financial stability, aiming for an independent, dignified life within mainstream society. With this goal, the Trust submitted a request to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Karnataka State, Bangalore, under which the Saubhagya Vikalachetana Co-operative Society Ltd. was established. A preliminary meeting was held on October 2, 2019, to select the primary promoters and decide on 1,000 members. On January 21, 2022, the society received its registration certificate from the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Karnataka State, Bangalore. Under the Trust and the co-operative society, members are building prosperous lives through various schemes and facilities. Through self-help groups and financial transactions managed by the co-operative society, members are leading self-reliant lives with dignity. Recognizing the Trust’s purpose and initiatives, many members have registered to participate, leading to the steady growth of both the Saubhagya Vikalachetana Seva Trust and the co-operative society. In Karnataka, the Trust established a primary office in a new building called Saubhagya Sahakara Saudha in the town area of Kadaba Taluk, Dakshina Kannada district. This building was inaugurated with the vision of providing easy and essential services to each person with disabilities, illuminating their lives with prosperity like a guiding light. We humbly seek everyone’s support and good wishes as we continue to move forward with this mission to bring hope and dignity into the lives of all persons with disabilities.
